Marriott International, Inc. has expanded its lodging portfolio in Ireland with the opening of the 148-room Ashbourne Marriott Hotel in Ashbourne, County Meath under a franchise agreement with the hotel's owners John McCabe, Paddy Kelly and John Walsh. The hotel is operated by Interstate Hotels & Resorts.
The general manager is Tom Devaney. Ailbhe Stephens is the director of marketing. The hotel is offering a special introductory rate of 95€ per night inclusive of breakfast.

Hotel Nikko Tianjin, a new five-star-level hotel opening today in Tianjin, China, is the latest addition to the Nikko Hotels International group of luxury hotels, JAL Hotels Co., Ltd. announced today. The opening signals the continued expansion in China of the Nikko Hotels International chain, operated by JAL Hotels.
Tianjin, a city of 10 million, is the biggest port city in northern China and an increasingly important international hub for business and industry -- companies such as Toyota and Coca Cola have large facilities there. The city, which has been selected as a soccer venue for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, also expects to see an increase in tourism.

Winston Hotels, Inc. a real estate investment trust (REIT) and owner of premium limited-service, upscale extended-stay and full-service hotels, today announced the March opening of the 119-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel in the Mayfaire Town Center development, a 400-acre, $200 million planned community development, in Wilmington, NC. The complex includes office buildings, retail outlets, residential homes and hotels. Situated approximately 1.5 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, it is centrally located between Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach. Alliance Hospitality Services operates the hotel.
